Fragrance provides the first field of application. Composition, vessel, mechanics, and gesture must work together to carry one expression. As the Maison develops, that discipline informs our exploration of environments, interfaces, and intelligence.

Before meaning is articulated, it is encountered.

Form, texture, rhythm, scent, and language influence what receives attention and how it is understood. We approach aesthetics as an interface through which identity and meaning enter experience.

This understanding informs both what we create and how we investigate technology.

As mediums change, identity must remain legible.

Translation between media requires judgment. A sensation expressed through fragrance cannot simply be copied into an object or a digital environment. It must be interpreted through the possibilities of the new medium while preserving its underlying identity.

Our longer-term research direction includes aesthetic intelligence: exploring how computational systems might recognize relationships among identity, cultural context, sensory language, and material expression.

This is an emerging field of inquiry within Brigatt’s development. Its progress must be demonstrated through research, prototypes, and meaningful applications.

Brigatt International develops technology in relation to products and experiences. The Brigatt Institute of Culture Art & Technology (BICAT’s) intended role is to examine its wider cultural consequences: what it enables, what it displaces, and how it changes the conditions of human expression.
